This course is designed as an introduction to Juz’ ‘Amma, the 30th and most frequently-read section of the Noble Qur’an. Given our extensive interaction with this section of the Qur’an, it behooves us to learn more about the Surahs we recite in our daily prayer and strive to teach our children.
The course will introduce students to the overall structure of the Qur’an, the basic approaches to Tafsīr, the difference between Tafsīr and Tadabbur, and reflections on the beautiful chapters that comprise the 30th Juz’. Generally, the class will be divided into four parts: Recitation of the Sūrah, a review of Tajwīd rules, a presentation of the overall significance of the Sūrah, and a deeper reflection on core concepts.
Students are invited to participate through reciting and memorizing the Sūrah, completing homework assignments, and reflecting on how the Sūrah applies to their lives. The class is probably most beneficial for ages 11-17; however, students of all ages are welcome to apply. The instructor especially encourages new Muslims to enroll.

In this class, we will be exploring the viability and path forward in establishing a Muslim Economic Union.
What would it take to form an economic union in this day and age? We will discuss definitions and terminology and discuss whether this is an appropriate model to pursue. In addition, the development of an economic union presents unique challenges. This includes various governance structures, political ramifications, currency effects, and more. We will discuss the sequential priority of economic activity and stability and safety for its possible members.
